Pastor Marcus T. Clemons, a native of Chicago, IL, grew up as a young musician at the Greater Christian Light Baptist Church. Over time Marcus was exposed to many areas within the Kingdom of God and eventually planted at the United Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Wilson Daniels. Marcus served under Pastor Daniels for many years directing the church’s mass and youth choirs, instructing the School of Christian Growth’s 10-week courses, and serving as the church’s praise team leader. Also, while at United, Rev. Clemons became connected with the Progressive National Baptist Convention, serving as the convention’s 1st Vice President and as the President of the Youth Department for the Midwest Region.
A graduate of St. Xavier University, Marcus received his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and Liberal Studies. He also received two Minor Degrees, one in Education and the other in Religious Studies. After completing his undergraduate studies, Pastor Clemons went on to earn his Master’s Degree from Quincy University in Special Education with an emphasis in Reading. He is a former Dean of Students, and is currently employed by the Chicago Public Schools.
Recently, Pastor Clemons celebrated 24 years of preaching and teaching God’s word. In the past Marcus has served as pastor of the LeClaire Missionary Baptist Church. From there he then went on to faithfully organize the Abundant Life Baptist church under the call and will of God. Now, God has even more in store for Rev. Clemons as Senior Pastor of Chicago’s Kingdom Baptist Church.
Pastor Marcus T. Clemons is happily married to Mrs. Erika N. Clemons. They have the pleasure of parenting a large blended family with whom they love very much. They currently reside in Bolingbrook, IL. Pastor Clemons always says, “If God wakes you up in the morning, you have another chance to get it right!”
